Another glorious summer weekend is almost upon us and while I can’t believe I am saying this, the mid 90’s just may feel like a refreshing break after this extreme heat event! Luckily, there are plenty of ways to shake off the cabin fever. Here are a few of our ideas:

14th Annual Summer Festival at Rice NW Museum of Rocks & Minerals
Any rockhounds in your family? I know I have one in mine! Join the Rice NW Museum of Rocks & Minerals for their 14th annual Summer Festival. This outdoor event features a wide variety of rock, mineral, gem, jewelry, and fossil dealers. They will have food for purchase, live music, and plenty of fun family activities. If you prefer to pack a lunch and find a shady spot on their property, this is also welcomed! The museum will also be open and accessible during the festival. Sat and Sun 10am-pm, $5 for over 5 (4 and under are FREE)
Lents Founders Fair
Join the Lents neighborhood for the second annual Oregon Walkways, an open-streets event that celebrates our communities and encourages walking. This year, they’re partnering with Lents Neighborhood Association and Green Lents to bringing the event to the historic Lents neighborhood, with 1.5 miles of free, family-friendly fun featuring craft and food vendors, live music and dancing, community booths, games, the Belmont Goats, and even a chicken beauty contest! 11am-4pm, free.
