Today’s post is bittersweet. This is the last Cultured Kitchen. It seems like only yesterday that we started exploring different cultures around the globe and how every community has its history rooted at the core of its recipes.

  Tamale history is one wrapped in mystique. Its name is derived from the word tamalli in the Nahuatl language spoken by the Aztecs, meaning “wrapped food.

  African coffee caught America’s interest with the 1990’s coffeehouse renaissance, and it’s an easy sell in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in the wet and chilly fall and winter months.
