June 2025

Welcome, June! Regardless of each family’s lifestyle or stage, there are always adjustments that come along with the transition from spring to summer. For many families, summer camp is on the horizon. Here at NW Kids, we’ve been working with our beloved summer camp partners since February to bring you all the deets on options that will mesh with your family’s interests, location, budget and needs. If you’re just starting your summer camp search, fear not! Skip ahead to page 8 and check out our list of camps thatstill have openings (as of this writing)!
On a personal note, I’ve been working with NW Kids since late 2016. This is my 74th issue as editor and for every one of them I’ve had the great pleasure of working with Robyn Taylor, a fabulously talented graphic designer. I get to interact with a lot of our advertising clients in person, on the phone and via email. If you’ve been to any of our summer camp expos over the past 9 years, you’ve probably talked to me at the NW Kids booth on the way in. But I always tell people that Robyn is the one that makes NW Kids “look like NW Kids”. This is Robyn’s last issue after more than 14 years and she will be sorely missed. Any time, professionally or personally, that life grants you the gift of knowing a human so generous of time, talent and spirit, remember to stand up and take note. Gratitude is a well that does not run dry.
Cheers,
Mary
