Editor’s Note It’s been a rough winter in Portland, with the monstrous snow and ice that turned our lovely city into an igloo and kept our kids out of school for far, far too long… but before long, the buds of spring will emerge, giving way to brighter, sunnier and (please, oh please) warmer days.

Fly Guy: The Musical, performed by Oregon Children’s Theatre, was a blast to watch. It had lots of entertaining aspects, like singing, dancing and fun costumes.

It’s the last weekend of January, so let’s make it a good one. There’s all sorts of fun stuff happening this weekend, from clowns and model trains to sports cars and the year of the rooster! Jan 27 Clowns Without Borders Benefit Show If you agree that laughter is the best medicine, get the gang together and head out to this weekend’s Clowns Without Borders Benefit Show at the Alberta Rose Theatre.

Last year was Portland’s first international film festival for children’s films, and it was so much fun that it’s now an annual event! Come see films from Europe, Australia, South America, Russia, Asia and the Middle East.
