Sounds Along the Oregon Trail

What’s better than entertainment, education and music all coming together in one super fun afternoon?? Since Oregon just had a birthday, it makes sense that we explore and celebrate a little Oregon history. Join Nancy and Rob Downie, Heartstrings Musical Duo, as they take a musical trek down the Oregon Trail. They will be playing tunes from the Lewis and Clark era through the Civil War era, on instruments that were popular during the Oregon Trail migration period. They’ll also give information on the history of each tune, as well as the origin and construction of their instruments. The show will wrap up with a sing-along and a chance for visitors to see the instruments up close, and maybe even try them out! Free, historicoregoncity.org
