October 2025

While each month has own special merits, October happens to be one of my very favorite ones. The mornings are chilly, the sweaters have returned to their rightful spots in the front of he closet and leaves are crunching underfoot. Here at NW Kids we’ve been busy getting ready for our first School Open House Guide of the 2025-26 school year. This issue includes a few schools we haven’t seen between our pages before and that’s always pretty fun for me to see!

In addition to our annual Harvest and events guides and a special look at Frog Pond Farm (check out the AR feature on the front cover!), this issue also includes the press release from the Family Justice Center of Washington County on the Family Peace Center Project. I was honored to attend an event to learn more about the project and the profound impact it will have on survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse in Washington County and hope it can serve as a model for other counties and communities throughout Oregon and far beyond.
